All businesses can now become climate-ready – at no cost.

The Confederation of Danish Industry (DI) is now launching a free tool aimed at helping Danish companies take control of their climate efforts. The initiative comes in response to increasing demands from customers, business partners, and legislation to document their carbon footprint.

An urgent need

According to DI, many companies – especially small and medium-sized enterprises – are struggling to get started with systematic climate action.

In total, 1,228 companies have completed the Climate-Ready Manufacturing Business program, and 94% of participants report being very satisfied or satisfied with the program.

With the new climate tool, businesses are offered a structured process where they can, step by step, map their emissions, set targets, and initiate reduction measures.

From strategy to action

The program provides access to guidance, case studies, and tools that make it easier to turn ambitions into action. It’s not just a matter of green transition – it’s also about competitiveness. A study published in the Harvard Business Review states that 70% of investors believe, there is significant financial potential in the shift to clean energy, and that investors prefer companies that take climate action.

Our perspective

At ZRM, we see a growing overlap between sustainability and digitalization. When companies are already working on systematizing data and processes – for example, in relation to customer data, compliance, or automation – climate data can be incorporated into the same structure. This reduces manual workflows and ensures that reporting is both accurate and efficient.

For many, the next step will therefore be to integrate climate tools with existing IT systems. In this way, climate efforts become not a separate project, but a natural part of the company’s business operations.
